Kingsway and Newtown Residents Association, founded in 2003, plays a key role in helping the residents of its local communities. By providing access to services and offering a hub for advice and support, the association ensures that residents have the resources they need to thrive. In a new partnership with OCM, they have been equipped with two refurbished laptops to enhance their services. This contribution will enable the association to increase its capacity and reach even more people in need.
As Ria Burns from the charity said: "We have spent some time today getting this amazing gift set up. We do so much background work that a lot might know about, so this allows us to reach more people. We are so grateful to OCM for gifting this to us." The refurbished laptops will allow the association to manage their operations more effectively, offering vital digital access to the community they serve.
This donation is part of OCM’s broader commitment to asset management and IT Lifecycle Management. OCM not only provides high-quality refurbished laptops but also ensures that organisations are able to optimise the entire lifecycle of their IT equipment. By reusing and refurbishing devices, OCM contributes to sustainable technology practices while supporting charities across the UK.
Steve Turberfield, Corporate Account Manager at OCM, noted: “Our partnerships with local organisations like Sanctuary, Kingsway and Newtown Residents Association are central to our social value initiatives. By providing refurbished laptops, we’re helping charities improve their operational capabilities, allowing them to focus more on delivering crucial services to the community.”
In addition to supporting individual charities, OCM’s work with Sanctuary’s Match My Project platform is helping deliver significant social value across a wide network of organisations. The platform connects suppliers with charity partners, creating opportunities for businesses to contribute to community-focused initiatives, such as this partnership with KANRA.
As part of their IT Lifecycle Management approach, OCM is committed to helping organisations manage their technology more effectively while giving back to the community. Through the donation of refurbished laptops, OCM is not only reducing electronic waste but also helping bridge the digital divide for those who need it most.
